Amrita Nanda

If I had to find a word that describes me best, I would say it is ‘Innovative’. Before coming to the YIF, I have worked as Senior Engineer–Design, Military Communication Group, Heavy Engineering Division at Larsen & Toubro Limited. I also hold the prestigious Fellowship of the Melton Foundation - an international, intercultural organisation with members from Chile, China, Germany, India and U.S.A., a fellowship that I have held for over five years.

The year 2012 can be considered a productive one for me. I was awarded a grant to attend a leadership development and intercultural networking workshop in Casablanca, Morocco. I was also chosen for the Melton Foundation Idea Incubator Global Citizenship Conference in Jena, Germany, to present my ideas on grassroots innovation.

I consider it one of my strengths that I can put across my thoughts in an impactful and lucid manner. I was a quarter finalist at a state-level debate competition, Verbattle, in 2007. In 2011, I was Editor of TEDxUFRO in Temuco, Chile. I have also done a voice-over for an animation series to spread education among under-privileged children in urban areas.
